Mykonos one of the Cyclades islands, in the Central Aegean Sea, close to Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos.
The majority of locals live on the island's west side, where renowned Mykonos Town, also called Chora is located.
Mykonos is mostly probably named after an ancient local hero, thought to be an offspring of Apollo (the god widely worshipped in Antique Greece and who was born on the neighbouring island of Delos).
Mykonos island is renowned for it:
traditional and unique Cycladic architecture
magnificent sandy beaches
excellent shopping and dining facilities
diverse and fun nightlife.
